For those who are wondering what the hell is that this is a map I made last night with the SSIDs for the wireless networks around my area and the probable signal coverage.

Tools for doing this map included Kismet, gpsmap and a couple of pearl scripts to extract the road map from Expedia. I did a "warwalking" exercise, which means walking around the neighbourhood with a 8.5 dBi Yagi antenna and a laptop scanning for APs.

The purpose of the exercise is to get used to the tool and train to be able to audit for rogue access points. About disclosing the map: the signal is in a public area, so I don't thing there is problem.

It was FUN... :)
